Students can now access the Scholarship and Award Application portal by clicking the link provided here or in the UPEI Forms section of their MyUPEI account. Students are encouraged to review the four-step instructions and submit their electronic application through the portal by the deadline of February 1, 2025. Additional awards with a separate application process are conveniently listed below the portal link on the 2nd Semester (Winter) Award Cycle webpage. Deadlines for the separate application awards vary across January and February. Be sure to click the links, review the criteria, and submit in time for the deadline.

Please add the testing information (date, test length, test format, aids allowed, test open or closed book, contact information, and test start time) for any in-person quizzes, tests, and midterms for the Winter 2025 semester to Accommodate, as soon as possible. We do not need the test file immediately.

Students who are registered with Accessibility Services and want in-person testing accommodations must submit a booking request at least seven days in advance. They cannot schedule their test until you have entered the testing information in Accommodate. 

You do not need to add the test file until a few days before the test date. If needed, changes can be made to test dates after testing information has been added.

The Robertson Library’s OER Development Program is accepting grant applications for the creation or adaptation of open educational resources (OERs). The grant types include

• Open Educational Resource or Textbook Grant (up to $7,000) for the development of a new open textbook on a topic that is currently not covered by an existing open textbook, or major adaptations of existing textbooks
• Open Textbook Adaptation Grant (up to $4,500) for the adaptation of one or more open educational resources or open textbooks to create a new version or edition of a resource (i.e. a Canadian edition of an existing open textbook)
• Supplementary Resources Grant (up to $2,500) for the creation of ancillary materials for existing open textbooks, including, but not limited to test banks, slide decks, recordings, or interactive media, etc. 

Applications that support first-year courses will be given priority as they reach the greatest number of students, but all applications will be reviewed and considered. Researchers from UPEI’s Active Living Lab are seeking people with cancer, or who have previously had cancer, to participate in a twice weekly, 12-week exercise program.  The program takes place at UPEI, and is open to community members who are undergoing or recovering from cancer treatment. The program includes cardiovascular exercise, resistance training, balance, and stretching, and is taught by a fitness professional trained in exercise oncology.  No previous experience is necessary.  For information, or to sign-up, contact excancer@nshealth.ca.

Study & Stay PEI Program is looking for volunteer mentors for the 2025 mentorship program 2025.

The purpose of the mentorship program is to pair international students with a working professional in the sector they are interested in and where they would like to start a career post-graduation. This enables students to discover opportunities and prepare for challenges they may face as they enter the labor force post-graduation.

The mentorship program runs from January to June each year. During this time, the students are required to meet with their mentor four times. 

The meetings can be scheduled in person, online, or over the phone.

The Department of Music kicks off its winter concert series with a recital featuring acclaimed and beloved pianist Heather Taves, whose Beethoven Sonata Journey is remarkable and moving. First and foremost, she is a stunning pianist, bringing her formidable technique to these great works. But she is also a brilliant thinker, and in her spoken introductions to each sonata, she illuminates the complex relationships that connect Beethoven and his world, the instrument, the audience and its world, and Heather herself.
