Twenty Eight (28) weeks: October 6, 2025 - April 17, 2026
The Department of Companion Animals at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), University of Prince Edward Island, invites applications for a 28-week term (October 6th, 2025 – April 17th, 2026) faculty position in anesthesiology. Appointment will be made at the Assistant or Associate professor level.
The successful applicant will join an established anesthesiology program with 3 faculty anesthesiologists and a team of experienced technicians (including one AVTAA certified technician). Job duties include teaching in undergraduate and graduate programs and providing small and large animal anesthesia service in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have:
• a DVM (or equivalent) degree
• successfully completed an ACVAA or ECVAA residency program
• demonstrated teaching ability
• well-developed skills of collaboration, relationship building and communication
• eligibility for licensure with the Prince Edward Island Veterinary Medical Association.
Preference will be given to candidates with diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (ACVAA). A graduate degree is desirable but not mandatory.
Salary: The salary range is commensurate with credentials and experience. This appointment is subject to budgetary approval.
