UPEI extends condolences on the passing of Dr. Tim Goddard

The University of Prince Edward Island and broader community have suffered a tremendous loss with the passing of Dr. Tim Goddard, Professor Emeritus and former Dean of Education, on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from brain cancer. UPEI extends condolences to his wife, Sally, also a retired UPEI employee, daughters Victoria and Kate, extended family, and colleagues and friends on PEI and around the world.

UPEI celebrates 13th annual MacLauchlan Prizes for Effective Writing
Members of the MacLauchlan family and the UPEI campus community celebrated the achievements of students, faculty, and staff at the 13th annual MacLauchlan Prizes for Effective Writing on Tuesday, January 21, in Schurman Market Square, Don and Marion McDougall Hall. The event recognizes writing excellence or leadership in the development of writing among UPEI students, staff, and faculty.

In accordance with the UPEI Action Plan: Building A Culture of Trust, Safety and Inclusion, the University of Prince Edward Island has committed to developing a new Harassment and Discrimination Policy and a revised Sexual Violence Policy. We are pleased to announce that a Review Committee has been struck, and work is now underway in earnest.
