UPEI is proud to host the Island Gymnastics Academy is once again pleased to present our annual end of year Gymstrada. Join us at the UPEI fieldhouse on Friday, June 8 and Saturday, June 9 for some great entertainment. The show begins at 6:00 pm.

Epperly Plaza Dedication

Please mark your calendars for the dedication of Epperly Plaza taking place in the Plaza on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Epperly Plaza, the fourth of the UPEI Plazas to be named in recognition of UPEI’s past-presidents, is located at the southern entrance to Robertson Library. A plaque recognizing Dr. Elizabeth R. Epperly, UPEI President from 1995 to 1998, will be unveiled. All are welcome to attend. Light refreshments will follow the ceremony.

Andrews Hockey Schools

UPEI is pleased to welcome back participants and families of the Andrews Hockey Growth Programs. One of the worlds top hockey schools, which boasts alumni such as Brad Richards and Sydney Crosby. Week long camps run from June 24th - Aug 25th. Many of the participants and their families will be staying in the UPEI residences, with on-ice sessions happening at the CARI complex.

“Rekindling Community”—public lecture and discussion

A lecture by Alastair McIntosh, a leading figure in Scottish land reform and a well-known writer and broadcaster. No charge, all welcome! All around the world, rural communities are facing huge challenges to their cohesion as globalisation changes the economic basis of agriculture and natural resources, and high levels of mobilisation, made possible by cheap oil, create fluidity in the social structure. In Scotland, many communities are undergoing a fundamental reevaluation of what it means to be a community, and how to increase the quality of resilience.
