Island Lecture Series: The 'Family Farm': A Keyword in Prince Edward Island Land Politics

The next Island Lecture Series, hosted by the Institute of Island Studies at UPEI, will feature guest speaker Heidi Hearing presenting, “The “family farm”: A keyword in Prince Edward Island land politics. The lecture will be held in the Faculty Lounge of UPEI’s Main Building on May 20 at 7 pm. (This lecture was previously scheduled for March but was postponed due to weather.) Admission is free and all are welcome.

Convocation is almost here! UPEI employees and faculty are invited to attend the Convocation exercises being held from May 13 to 16, at 10:00 am each day at the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre. Each ceremony is preceded by a procession of graduates across campus.

UPEI business start-up winners announced at 2025 MacLauchlan Panther Pitch competition

On Monday, April 7, nine student teams pitched their business concepts to a live audience for a share of $68,000 in prize money in the 2025 MacLauchlan Panther Pitch competition at the UPEI Catherine Callbeck Centre for Entrepreneurship. 

The nine finalist teams were GreenGuard Solutions, Purely PEI, Co-Net, NoteSwap, Float & Putt PEI, LimbRise, TechLend, TAKSI, and UPSTART.
