School of Climate Change and Adaptation's climate career day

Students are invited to the School of Climate Change and Adaptation’s climate career day, an opportunity for students and climate sector organizations to meet face-to-face to learn about climate adaptation projects and potential summer jobs or full-time opportunities on PEI.

Students are encouraged to come and network with climate professionals, potential employers, find a summer job, or kick start a career.

Admission is free for students.

Panthers on the prowl: UPEI’s Peterside and Ikpotokin chase greatness in U SPORTS track and field

With the 2025 Biosteel U SPORTS Track and Field Championships set to take place March 6–8, at the University of Windsor, Windsor, Ontario, UPEI student-athletes Alaere Peterside and Helena Ikpotokin are ready to showcase their talents on the national stage.

Both athletes punched their tickets to the championship by winning gold at the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) Championships last weekend. Peterside claimed the high jump title with a 1.71m leap, while Ikpotokin dominated the 300-metre dash with a time of 39.83 seconds.

This book lets us take a look behind the curtain, bringing together research from many fields with insights into the science behind learning.

New e-book "Time Flies, Online Edition" explores changes to PEI landscapes

A new e-book, Time Flies, Online Edition: A Story Map Companion to Time Flies: A History of Prince Edward Island from the Air, has been published by Dr. Joshua MacFadyen, Canada Research Chair in Geospatial Humanities at UPEI, and Bailey Clark, research assistant at MacFadyen’s GeoREACH Lab and Masters of Arts in Island Studies student.

Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The UPEI Source for Sports Panther Athletes of the Week for February 24 to March 2, 2025, are Deborah Aboagye (women’s basketball) and Kamari Scott (men’s basketball).

Coffee Chats with the President

Join UPEI President Wendy Rodgers for casual  “coffee chats” at Tim Horton's in the W.A. Murphy Student Centre, beginning this Friday, March 7 from 8:15-9:15 am.

These coffee chats offer a relaxed setting where any member of the UPEI community can drop by, grab a drink, and chat with Wendy about anything on your mind. Whether you want to share ideas, ask questions, or simply say hello, these chats are a great way to connect with the president in a comfortable and informal environment.

UPEI Wind Symphony: Exploration

The UPEI Wind Symphony, under the direction of Dale Sorensen, will present a concert of music on the theme of exploration – of nature, space, sound, and self. The program will include an arrangement of Bedrich Smetana’s Vltava (The Moldau), a symphonic poem depicting Bohemia’s great Vltava river, alongside evocative works by Julie Giroux (Mystery on Mena Mountain), Judith Zaimont (City Rain), and Canadian composer Nova Pon (Tilting Sunward). Of special note will be the performance of Rescue by PEI-born composer E.K.R.
