On March 13 at 3:00 pm in  Leacture Theatre A at the AVC: Enooyaq Sudlovenick, Pathology and Microbiology will present a seminar titled, Pathogens and heavy metals in harvested ringed seals in Iqaluit, NU.   Zacharie Maw, Biomedical Sciences will present a seminar titled, Stimulation of silent natural product biosynthesis using surface-active molecules in marine Streptomyces. Associate Director of Clinical Experience - Psychology Candidate

The Department of Psychology is pleased to present the first candidate for the position of Faculty Member and Associate Director of Clinical Experience for UPEI’s new Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) program. Each candidate will give two talks: the first is a simulated classroom presentation about their research and the second will outline their vision for the PsyD at UPEI. Please join us on Wednesday, March 21 at 10:30 am where Dr. Raquel Hoersting will present her vision talk entitled "Clinical Training as an Integrative Approach: Service, Scholarly Practice, and Collaboration". The presentation will take place in MCDH 329.

Movie Talks @ RL: My Depression: The Up and Down and Up of It

In support of UPEI Mental Health Week, Relationships Matter, Robertson Library is presenting My Depression: The Up and Down and Up of It in our Movie Talks series. Join us for this entertaining but enlightening film on the symptoms, emotions, and side effects of depression. It will help you to understand someone suffering from depression a little bit better and those who suffer from depression will not feel so alone. A discussion/Q & A period will follow the film. Free popcorn. Everyone is welcome!

Staff & Faculty Brown Bag Lunch: Meet The Counselling Team

Faculty and staff are invited to come and meet the counsellors on campus during UPEI Mental Health Week 2018. This session provides you the opportunity to ask questions about counselling services, get to know the people who you are referring students to, find out what you can do to help students in need and ask any other questions you may have. In this workshop we will introduce you to Bullet Journalling (a planning system) and art journalling as two platforms for helping you stay on top of your priorities, including your mental health. MHW 2018: How to Help a Friend

This interactive session discusses effective ways of communicating and supporting a friend who is in need. The session will be led by two UPEI students and a counsellor will be present to contribute to the session and offer support as needed. UPEI Mental Health Week 2018 starts March 12

Students, faculty, and staff, welcome to UPEI Mental Health Week 2018! The call for committee members went out in January and a resounding group of 30 creative and caring individuals came together from across campus to establish the working committee. We hope you enjoy the events we have organized this year and that you use every opportunity to come and celebrate together—relationships matter. View the full UPEI Mental Health Week 2018 schedule Every day, be sure to check out the following Mental Health Week feature events: Info Booth, Ball Pit & Build a Quilt (Monday–Friday: W. A. Murphy Student Centre (MSC) Concourse 10 am–3 pm) Drop by the Information Booth. Volunteers will be on hand to welcome you and pass along handouts and resources. While you’re there, take a minute to add a patch to the quilt to show the relationships that matter to you and hop in the ball pit—you just might make a new friend. Info Booth & Ask a Counsellor (Monday–Friday: Robertson Library Breezeway, and AVC Foyer) Stop by for information, tips, resources, and ways you can participate in the week’s events. Plus...Have a question about UPEI's counselling services but not sure who to ask? Ask a counsellor! During Mental Health Week, there will be a box in both the AVC and Robertson Library at the MHW info booths. Submit your question using one of these boxes, and it will be answered by a counsellor. Your question and answer will be posted anonymously on the wall behind the MHW info booths in both buildings. Zen Zone Relationships matter, and one of the most important relationships you will encounter in your lifetime is the one you have with yourself. The W.A. Murphy Student Centre (MSC) Day Lounge will be designated as the Zen Zone for Mental Health Week. This space will serve as an area for relaxation, reflection, and mindfulness. Open Monday to Friday from 10 am–3 pm, members of the campus community are invited to come into the Zen Zone and participate in quiet activities such as colouring, journaling, reading, and reflective thought.
